A wet camp.

Late in the afternoon, the boys put up their tent in the middle of a field, as soon as this was done, they cooked a meal over an open fire. They were all hungry and the food smelt good. After a wonderfull meal, they told story and sang songs by the camp fire. But some time later it began to rain, the boys felt tired so they put out the fire and crept into their tent their sleeping bags were warm and comportable, so they all slept soundly. In the middle of the night, two boys woke up and began shouting the tent was full of water! They all leapt out off their slepping-bags and hurried outside. It was raining heavily and they found that a stream had formed in the field. The stream wound its way across the field and then flowed right under their tent.

Jack Russell Training to Prevent Chewing

 by: Richard Cussons

Chewing is common among dogs. They do not chew to purposely destroy your belongings because they are angry or spiteful. A dog's mouth is actually not just for eating or destroying things only. To creatures who don't have hands just like humans do, the mouth is the best tool to pick up and check on things and transport things from one place to another. They also use their mouth to communicate which is very important especially in jack russell training. Chewing therefore is a natural behavior of dogs and you cannot just training them to stop chewing completely.

The best thing to do in order to handle this situation is to train them what they can and cannot chew. Keep your belongings out of your pet's reach. Shoes, socks, books and other things you do not want destroyed should not be left lying around. Even old shoes, clothing and socks should not be given to dogs to chew on because they cannot tell the difference between the old and new.

Since it is not right to totally curtail a dog's instinct to gnaw on things, direct his attention to things that you want him to chew such as chew toys. Your dog should have lots of it and must be appealing in order to keep him interested. If your dog is fond of chewing things with your scent on them, leave the toy in your laundry hamper for days before giving them to your dog. You may also want to rub something tasty or stuff the toy with anything your dog finds rewarding. When you feel like your dog is up to something, remove the item and give him chew toys instead to divert his attention.

When shopping for dog toys, choose toys that are safe for your pet. Toys that are easily broken or with small parts can be dangerous to your pet so beware of these items. There are also washable toys available.

And just like other behavior problems, the desire to chew can be minimized with regular exercise. Dogs that are physically and mentally stimulated are less likely to get bored thus they are also less likely to chew and become destructive. Interesting and fun jack russell training is the way to go!

"Kingdom of Heaven" Sought to Be an Epic Film, But Became a Disaster in Production

 by: Ed Bagley

Kingdom of Heaven - 1 Star (Terrible)

Unfortunately for the "Kingdom of Heaven", what started out as an ambitious epic film about a little known time in history, became an almost disaster at its release and was only average at best. There is enough blame to spread around.

First, there is a reason why the immortal "Gone with the Wind", which involved a turbulent love affair in the American south during the Civil War and Reconstruction, took almost 4 hours to see. You apparently cannot make a quality, classic film about the Civil War in less time. Ken Burns' acclaimed documentary film "The Civil War" consisted of 9 episodes and took 11 hours to view.

Second, there may be a market for a film in the Middle Ages about the Christian Crusades, a series of military expeditions by Europeans to recover the Holy Land from the Muslims in the 11th, 12th and 13th Centuries. That market, regrettably, is very small compared to an epic about the Civil War, World War I or World War II.

Third, when 3-time, Best Director Oscar-nominee Ridley Scott ("Black Hawk Down", "Gladiator" and "Thelma and Louise") presented the film to the studio at 194 minutes (3 hours and 14 minutes), the studio execs demanded that it be cut to two hours, believing that moviegoers would not sit through a 3-hour film.

This proved to be a critical mistake in judgment. It was nearly impossible for Scott to tell the Kingdom of Heaven story in 2 hours, and when the movie received really mixed reviews and proved to be a financial disappointment in the United States, the error was clearly noticeable.

Fourth, not only was this film to be an epic story, its production cost was enormous. Most of the filming was in Morocco, and Mohammad VI, King of Morocco, provided 1,500 of his military personnel with accompanying equipment to help in the filming.

In addition, there were apparently 15,000 handmade costumes for the film that also required helmets, boots, gloves, chainmail, belts and scabbards. The flag budget for the film was $250,000. There were 7,500 weapons, 3,000 shields and 20,000 arrows used in the film. In one scene alone, there were 143 extras, 60 military personnel, 125 horses and 60 camels.

A massive replica of Jerusalem was constructed in the Sahara Desert, containing 28,000 square meters of wall that required 6,000 tons of plaster. The front set was 1,200 feet long and the walls were 56 feet tall. Good grief.

Fifth, writer William Monahan's first draft of the script was 186 pages. Executive producer Lisa Ellzey thought Fox would never approve the script because of its length, so she cut it to only 20 pages before submitting it.

Sixth, Orlando Bloom was not ready to play the leading role as Balian of Ibelin, and his performance did not reflect the kind of command and presence necessary to pull it off.

Seventh, I had great difficulty as a moviegoer following the story as its presentation required much more help in context, or from a narrator, to understand what was happening when and why it was important.

Eighth, the sound in the film was terrible. There were times when it was impossible to understand the dialog and, without this essential element, there is no way the film would be rated good by my standards. Sound is too basic of a need to succeed and, when it goes unnoticed because it is well done, it is not an issue.

Ninth, this whole project was sad from start to finish. What could have become a good film could not overcome the obstacles along the way. Two bright spots in the film were the performances of Liam Neeson as Godfrey de Ibelin and Ghassan Massoud as Saladin, the great Muslim leader.

In his quest to be noble, Liam Neeson was able to deliver this dialog as Godfrey de Ibelin: "Be without fear in the face of our enemies. Be brave and upright that God may love thee. Speak the truth always, even if it leads to your death. Safeguard the helpless and do no wrong. That is your oath." (Spoken to his son, Balian, when making him a knight.)

History records that Saladin and his Muslim troops did recapture Jerusalem after defeating the King of Jerusalem at the Battle of Hattin near the Lake of Galilee. When Saladin's soldiers enter the City of Jerusalem, they were not allowed to kill civilians, rob people, or damage the city.

In many ways, the Muslims come out looking better than the Christians in Kingdom of Heaven, and historically, they were.

Easiest Ways to Make Authentic Sourdough Bread

 by: Mary Walsh

Sourdough bread is usually included among the favorites of many bread connoisseurs around the world. Novice bakers find it difficult to capture the intense and deep flavor present in Sourdough breads. It also takes considerable practice in creating the perfect sourdough breads.

They say that sourdough bread likely originated around 1500 BC in Ancient Egypt. It became the main bread consumed in Northern California during the Gold Rush period. There are several regions, such as San Francisco, that's known for producing the best sourdough in today's market. In fact, sourdough bread is very much a part of San Francisco's culture. It's the perfect bread to partner with soups such as chili, cioppino and clam chowder, as well as most seafood dishes.

But the thing is, you could make your individual version of sourdough bread right inside your very own kitchen. It's not as hard as it sounds. You'll only need two ingredients, flour & water. Unbleached bread flour is recommended for starting bakers but you also try using flours made of whole-wheat & rye. You could also use organically grown flour if you want. You'll also be needing a clear glass jar big enough to hold in all the mixture.

Here are the directions to creating your very own sourdough starter:

First Day: Cleanse jar thoroughly. Put 1 c of your choice flour & 1 c of water into your jar then stir the mixture. Use a plastic or wooden spoon for this. Don't attempt using your metal spoon. Find any damp clean towel then use this to cover your jar. Store jar in any warm place. Ideal temperature is somewhere around 70 - 80 deg. Fahrenheit.

Second Day: All you need to do is to take care that your jar is still securely in its place. Bubbles may appear inside your jar, but don't worry about this.

Third Day: Open your jar & observe that there might be a bit of a sour smell. Don't be alarmed. This is normal. Now throw away 1/2 of your mixture. Add 1/2 c of lukewarm water and 1/2 c of the flour to your mixture then stir it well. Next, cover your container again then return it to its original location.

Fourth to Seventh Day: Do the third step in Days 4 to 7. Throw away 1/2 of your mixture and add fresh water and flour to your jar again.

By the seventh day, the container should be already filled with bubbles. The expansion in its volume indicates that your starter can now be used. You could now use this mixture for baking your very own sourdough bread, or store it for future use

Softball Coaching Tips – Softball Nutrition Myths Revealed

 by: Marc-Olivier Dagenais

It takes a real nutritionist, or somebody with a degree in this field to really tell you what's good for you when it comes to what you eat.

Sure, there are a lot of them who publish books every year on how you can live a fitter and healthier life by following their advice on nutrition. Many of them provide you with sound advice, although there are still those who continue to perpetuate nutrition myths that may prove harmful to you.

That's why I'm revealing to you these myths in this article so you can save yourself from the frustration and the possible danger that these myths can bring you.

Let's begin.

Myth 1 – Nutrition isn't important in softball

When you compare softball with other sports such as football and basketball, you'll probably notice that softball isn't as intense as the other sports I've mentioned. Because of this, some players and coaches think that nutrition wouldn't be much of a factor when you're playing softball.

Quite the contrary. Just like other sports, you still have to spend more than the usual amount of energy in order to play this game compared to normal activities such as sitting down or walking. That's why you need to have enough fuel to last you throughout the game.

And since softball involves a lot of time practicing, the food that you eat will also help you recover much quickly and help keep you from getting injured easily.

Myth 2 – Eating fatty foods won't affect you

When you're in a game, you can be sure that classic foods such as hotdogs and burgers will always be available in nearby stalls.

That's why it's easy to forget about your health and consume these foods before or after the game. Although I still wouldn't recommend you to eat fatty and greasy foods after a game, the more that I wouldn't recommend you do it before you play ball.

Why? Although fats can be a source of fuel for your body, they are difficult to digest and difficult to burn. That's why you'll notice that you're performance will be severely diminished if you eat fatty foods just before the game.

Myth 3 – You can improve your performance by taking supplements

This statement is pretty tricky because indeed, you can improve your performance by taking supplements. But keep in mind that they're only designed to supplement the nutrients that you're supposed to be taking in from the foods that you eat. Therefore, they're not substitutes to eating healthy.

That said, always remember to eat the right type and the right amount of foods. That helps boost your performance better than simply relying on supplements alone.

I'm pretty sure you've heard of all of these nutrition myths before. Now that I've helped you uncover them, I hope that you'll finally be able to take your path towards a healthier life. And that's what you need, not only because you're playing softball, but because you need to it to live a more fulfilling life with your family.
